Troy Rhoden Lagabenz

Born Troy Rhoden in Kingston Jamaica I moved to Spanish Town St. Catherine at a tender age. I am known to most people as LagaBenz. LagaBenz is a proud Jamaican who represents and embraced the culture of Jamaica. Our beautiful Island has a rich heritage and a unique tradition. As a young man growing up in Jamaica I was exposed to a variety of skills and craft which was pertinent to my upbringing.

My father is a hardworking upstanding Jamaican who is what we referred to as a Jack of many trades. My mother was an impeccable homemaker who masters the art of cooking. Today I stand tall as a chip off the old block.

My lifestyle spans a wide variety of experiences, from hiking in the green hills of the Blue Mountain Peak, exploring the beaches from Helshire to the white sands of Negril.

Riding my bicycle from Linstead to Red Hills, playing Defence for St. Catherine Venus basketball team to playing the tenor drum with Gladiator Marching Bands, Camping and training with Brazen Boy Scout to Drilling and saluting with Independence Cadet Unit, Roller Skating in Perry’s Skateland, riding the train to rural St Elizabeth, Swimming in the Rio Cobre River, Baking pastries in Aston Bakery Spanish Town to Island Bakery Linstead St. Catherine and entertaining and supplying musical needs from the party scene to dance hall. Laga Benz was born in Kingston and raised in Spanish Town St. Cathrine Jamaica. Chose music at a very tender age, whenever he is not playing music on his motorize sound system he is repairing computer or speaker, his love for music in which he has a collection of tunes from Rocksteady, Ska, Reggae, Hip Hop, Souls, etc, he has traveled to various parts of the island to play music and Lent his experience to other music lovers. LagaBenz’s love for music enables him to socialize with all types of people, he also helps in his Community in which the youths look upon him as a role model.
